But does coffee really need to be complicated?
Isolation Coffee is a simple little venture trying to provide good coffee and bring people the highest quality coffee gear, at fair prices.
If you're wondering, who we are, it's just me, Dain. I started this company for three reasons: I was gifted time at home during the lockdown of 2020, I love coffee, and I think it is insane to pay $18 for a 12 oz. bag. I would rather start my own coffee business than pay that. So, I did.
True, that $18 coffee is really good. But at the rate I drink coffee, I'd spend more on coffee than I do on gas. What makes $18 coffee cost $18? You would think it's because of the high-quality beans. Wrong. You pay about $2 for the nice bag (that you then throw away) and $6 for the grocery store to stock it. You really only should pay $10 for a bag of coffee. And at Isolation Coffee, where we only do direct sales, that's what you pay.
How do I decide what gear to sell? I first ask, "would I buy that thing?" if the answer is yes, I call that company up and ask to be a retailer. I don't sell anything I don't use, or that I don't secretly want. To come up with my pricing, it's simple: the manufacturer's say "this is the lowest you can advertise" so I mark it at that price. I then tell all my friends to use the secret code "friends" to get 10% off gear.
Coffee doesn't need to be complicated. Get rid of the noise. Enjoy the quiet.
